Upgrading Your Server
This chapter describes internal optional devices available for the server, procedures for install or
removing such optional devices, and notes on using them.
IMPORTANT:

Optional devices described in this chapter may be installed or
removed by any user. However, NEC does not assume any
liability for damage to optional devices or the server or
malfunctions of the server resulted from installation by the user.
NEC recommends you ask your service representative for
installing or removing any optional devices.
●
Make sure to use only optional devices and cables authorized by
NEC. Repair of the server due to malfunctions, failures, or
damage resulted from installing inappropriate devices or cables
will be charged.
●
Make sure to uodate the system when you made any changes to
the hardware configuration.
IMPORTANT:
●
It is required to set the maintenance mode to prevent Alert
Report during the operation when mounting optional
products/replacing parts. Clear the maintenance mode setting
after the operations. The maintenance mode can be set and
cleared from EXPRESSSCOPE Monitor or Web Console.
●
Ensure to clear the maintenance mode after the operations. In
case it is not cleared, this setting is cleared automatically 180
minutes after the setting.
However, report is sustained if you are under contract for the
maintenance of Report Service. Note that a failure occurred
before the setting is cleared automatically is not reported if the
maintenance mode is not cleared after the operation.
