Is large capacity memory installed?
→
Memory check may require time depending on the installed memory size. Wait until the memory
check is completed.
■
Is keyboard or mouse operated immediately after starting up the server?
→
If keyboard or mouse is operated immediately after the server starts up, POST may wrongly
detect it as the failure of keyboard controller and stop its process. In such a case, restart the
server. Ensure not to operate keyboard or mouse just after the restart of the server until the
message such as BIOS booting one is displayed.

Are the installed memory or PCI device compatible with the server?
→
Only the NEC-authorized devices are guaranteed for operation.
Access to the internal device or external device fails (Or unable to operate properly).

Is the cable properly connected?
→
Check if the interface cable or power cable (or power cord) is connected properly. Check also
the connecting order is appropriate.

Is the order of powering on correct?
→
When the external device is connected, first power on the external device, and then power on
the server.
■
Is the driver installed?
→
The dedicated device driver may be required depending on the option of the connected device.
Refer to the description attached to the device and install the required driver.
■
Is the setting of BIOS correct?
→
When the PCI device is connected, set the interruption of the PCI device and other detailed
setting on the BIOS setup utility of the server (No change of setting is normally required for PCI
device, while some boards may require special setting. Refer to the attached manual of the PCI
board for the proper setting).

The devices connected to serial ports may require the setting of I/O port address or motion mode.
Refer to the manual attached to the device for proper setting.

Is the media properly set on the tray of the DVD drive?
→
There is a CD/DVD holder tray. Check the media is held firmly.
■
Is the CD/DVD media available to use on this server?
→
The CD/DVD media dedicated for Macintosh cannot be used on this server.
