Description
Warning:
Upper Limit setting value is below controllable
range. Actual power may easily exceed the
limit. Please check the setting.
Power Capping Control acts as if minimum of
the controllable range is set.
If specified “Upper Limit” is lower than the lower
limit of “Contorollable Setting range”, this message
is displayed. Management firmware manages
server power so server power consumption will be
under the lowest value of “Contorollable Setting
range”.
Warning:
Upper Limit setting is Invalid(1-65535).
If “Power Capping Control” is set to “Enable”, and If
specified “Upper Limit” value is invalid, this
message is displayed.
Warning:
Upper Limit setting is Invalid(0-65535).
If “Power Capping Control” is set to “Disable”, and
if specified “Upper Limit” value is invalid, this
message is displayed.
IMPORTANT :
“Max Power Consumption” is theoretical value calculated with
the full system configuration. For this, the “Max Power
Consumption” may differ greatly from “Current Power
Consumption” with the server load.
If the “Upper Limit” is set lower than “Controllable setting
range”, “Upper Limit” will be set to the lowest value of
“Controllable setting range”. And the management firmware
manages the server power consumption as not to exceed
“Upper Limit”.
If “Upper Limit” is set lower than “Max Power Consumption”,
the power consumption of the server will be suppressed by
Management firmware. For this reason, the server performance
may be decline. If you desire that the server performance is
important, please disable “Power Capping Control”.
“
Power Capping Control” is based on the EIST(Enhanced Intel
SpeedStep(R) Technology) functionality. If you would like to
enable Power Capping Control, please enable “Power Capping
Control” at “Mode Settings” page and set either of following
BIOS settings.
“Power Technology “ is set to “Energy Efficient” in "CPU
Configuration".
“Power Technology” is set to “Custom” and EIST is set
to “Enable”.
Furthermore, Power Capping Control” is require the power
control function of the operating system. The supported OS is
followings. Do not use this feature except for these operating
systems.
Microsoft Windows Server 2008 or later
Red hat Enterprise Linux 5.6 or later
VMware ESX/ESXi 4.0 or later.
