on the follower to select auto mode.

The follower switches to the same tap position as the master.

a tap difference from the follower to the master.

several times on the follower to manually increase the tap
position by the number of permitted steps ("Maximum permitted tap dif-
ference") and then one further step.

on the follower to select auto mode.
