EARBOX LUBRICATION
Every 3000 mi, check that the oil is visible through the
inspection lid “B” positioned on the LH side of the gearbox.
Carry out the test with the vehicle in a perfectly vertical
position and when the engine is hot; an incorrect position
could cause a wrong the reading.
If the oil is not visible, top up with the oil prescribed in the
table in section B, chapter 2, pouring it through the special
hole “A”.
About every 6000 mi, it is necessary to replace the oil.
This must be carried out when the engine is warm to allow
the oil to drain more quickly and thoroughly. To bring it to
temperature =to elencate:
•
Place a pan under the gearbox to collect the used oil;
• Remove the oil filler cap “A” to let the oil drain more
quickly;
• Unscrew the oil-draining plug “C” and let all the gearbox
oil flow out;
• Screw-down the oil draining plug once again and tighten
it to the torque prescribed in the table, section B,
chapter 4;
• Pour in new oil, type prescribed in the table in section
B, chapter 2, through the inlet hole until the level is
visible through the inspection lid;
• Refit and tighten the oil filler cap
