3.2.2 Sensors
The two triangulation scanners measure without contact the thickness of the strip as they
pass between the two upper and lower belts of the measuring system.
i
An optional air purge at the sensors in the upper and lower belts reduces dust ac-
cumulation, etc. on the glass panes for the sensors.

3.2.3 Calibration part
For a reference measurement, a calibration part is used to detect deviations. The hold-
er for the calibration part is inserted into the measuring gap of the measuring system
as necessary. The respective calibration component is (observe bevel) mounted in the
correct position in the calibration component holder. After the reference measurement,
the measuring system automatically repositions the holder for the calibration part in the
parking position.

3.2.4 Purge Air – Laser Scanner
Laser scanners are based on an optical principle. To avoid possible impairment, e.g.,
dust on the lower belt's laser scanner, the glass surfaces on the laser beam emission and
receiver are constantly blown onto to prevent dirt deposits
CAUTION
Do not stare deliberate-
ly into the laser beam!
Close your eyes, or
immediately turn away if
the laser beam hits the
eye.
