7.4 Cleaning of Protective Windows
It may be necessary to clean the protective windows. The sensor system used detects
the degree of contamination. If cleaning is required, a corresponding message is dis-
played on the screen. Fixed cleaning intervals are not needed.
Caution:
To ensure long service life of this coating, careful and thorough cleaning according to
these instructions is required!
7.4.1 Dry cleaning (step 1)
This can be accomplished with an anti-static lens brush. Alternatively, the windows can
be blown off with dehumidified, clean, oil-free compressed air.
7.4.2 Moist cleaning (step 2)
Use a clean, soft, lint-free cloth or lens cleaning paper and pure alcohol (isopropyl alco-
hol) to clean the protective glass pane.
We recommend using the moist cleaning cloths offered by Micro-Epsilon (part no.
0467490).
Caution:
We strongly discourage using already used cloths. Particles from prior cleanings could
cause scratches!
7.5 Notes about cleaning with contact
Before cleaning, ensure that there are no particles on the window which could cause
scratches (by dry cleaning first). Do not exert any pressure on the window.

Blowing off is only per-
mitted if the glass panes
are at approximately
room temperature. Blow-
ing off hot glass panes
can cause cracks in the
glass!
CAUTION
Never use commercially
available glass cleaner,
acetone or other clean-
ing agents!
NOTICE
Never clean in circular
motions. Particles that
may have been picked
up could cause long
scratches!
