Installation and Initial Operation
4.1
Installation and Mounting
The installation site should preferably be free of contaminants such as dust or fumes.
These can result in measurement uncertainties. If needed, use the optional air purging
function on the sensors to reduce the accumulation of dust, etc. on the glass panes for
the laser and the receiver.
The installation site should be free of vibration.
The installation site must have adequate stability.
Install the measuring system.
4.2
Loosen Transport Lock
The measuring system is shipped with a transport lock. Remove the transport lock prior
to initial operation.

Loosen the transport lock at the base frame and holder for the calibration part of the
measuring system, among other locations.
4.3
Back-up Fuse
Refer to the electrical plan for the rating of the back-up fuse for the measuring system
. The customer must use loop impedance measurement and appropriate cable
cross-sections to ensure prompt triggering of the back-up fuse.
CAUTION
Crushing or impact haz-
ard caused by displace-
ment of moving parts of
the measuring system.
Remove any transport
safety devices only after
installation.
CAUTION
Loss of stability. Suffi-
ciently attach the meas-
uring system.
