All security features are available and accessible through the Switch. In order to secure the
sRB-20210G, you must disable the sRB-20210G security features (telnet/ftp). As a result,
the sRB-20210G will only be accessible through the Switch and will benefit from the Switch
security features, such as RADIUS and sRB-20210G Filtering.
IMPORTANT:
The default configuration is not secured (telnet and ftp are enabled by default).
6.10.2
Enabling/Disabling Non-secure Protocols
6.10.2.1 Disabling SNMP
The switch SNMP configuration is set by default to public/private. Change you SNMP
configuration to secure your switch. (Note that the Mellanox GUI uses the default
public/private security setting). You will need to enter the new SNMP community string
settings when logging into the GUI session.
To disable SNMP:
Use the following table to enter the desired commands.

a. Enter the guest mode. The default password for the guest
user is

b. Enter the Privileged mode as follows:
Type enable and enter the admin password (The default
password for the admin user is
123456
.)
OR
admin
Enter directly the privileged mode.
The default password for the admin user is
123456
.
Note:
When connecting to the sRB-20210G via the switch
using the
io connect
command, you are already in admin
mode and do not need a password.
config
Enters the config
mode from the privileged mode.
snmp
Changes to SNMP configuration mode.
snmp set [disable]
Disables SNMP set commands
snmp get [disable]
Disables SNMP get commands
CAUTION:
While this above step provides enhanced security, performing this will not allow you to use
the GUI.
