Safety instructions
General
•
Do not subject the device to drops or splashes of water and do not place any vessels filled with water, such
as vases, on the device. Water penetrating the device can impair its electrical safety.
•
Do not use the device if the mains plug, cable or device itself has been dropped. If the plug, cable or
appliance is damaged, immediately remove the plug from the power supply.
•
Do not connect the device immediately to the mains if the unit has been moved from a cold to a warm
room. Any condensation which forms could damage the unit. The device can be operated as soon as the
unit has reached room temperature.
Keep electrical equipement out of reach of children
•
Do not allow children to play unattended on electrical equipment. Children may not always correctly
recognize danger.
•
The device is battery-operated. Batteries may endanger life if swallowed. Therefore, you should keep the
device out of reach of children. If a battery is swallowed, please obtain immediate medical assistance.
Setting the appliance up safely
•
Place the device on a sturdy, level surface. It is not designed for use in rooms that are very humid (e.g.
bathrooms). Please observe the following installation conditions:
•
Place and operate all units on a stable, level and vibration-free surface in order to avoid the LCD TV from
falling.
•
Do not place the device near heat sources (e.g. heaters) that could affect the unit. Do not place the unit in
direct sunlight.
•
Do not place any open sources of fire (candles or similar objects) on the device.
•
Ensure that ventilation is adequate. The ventilation unit should not be obstructed by placing objects such as
newspapers, table cloths, curtains, etc. on the vents.
•
Avoid contact with water droplets or spray and do not place vases or anything containing water on the unit.
•
Never set up the appliance near magnet fields.
(e.g. television sets or speakers).
•
To avoid damage of cable do not place any objects or furniture on the cable.
•
Pay attention to sufficiently large clearances in the wall cupboard. Maintain a minimum clearance of 10 cm
around the device for sufficient ventilation.
•
Do not operate your device in the open air, because external influences, such as rain, snow, etc. could
damage the device.
Never undertake your own repairs
•
Never try to open and/or repair the device yourself. There is a risk of electric shock! Do not interfere with the
unit’s power cable.
•
If there is a fault contact our Service Centre or other suitable specialist workshop.
•
If the unit is malfunctioning there might have been a electrical discharge. If this is the case unplug the unit
from the power source and remove the batteries. Insert the batteries again and re-attach the unit to the
power source. This will reset the unit.
Cleaning the device
•
Before you clean the device, pull the mains plug out of the socket, to interrupt the power supply .
•
Use only a mild soap solution or commercial glass cleaner to clean the appliance. Avoid the use of chemical
solutions and cleaning products because these may damage the device’s surface or markings.

Attention!
Every time you update your data make back-up copies on an external storage medium. The supplier does not
assume liability for data loss or damage to data storage units, and no claims can be accepted for damages
resulting from the loss of data or consequential losses.
