Recycling and Disposal Information
The MagneMover LITE transport systems use the following items that may require special
handling for disposal or recycling.
MagneMover LITE Transport System
No hazardous materials, other than those identified below, are used in the MagneMover LITE
components.
Node Controllers
A Lithium battery is located in the Node Controllers to maintain the clock when power is
removed. If this battery is being removed or disposed of, it must be handled in the following
manner:
•
Follow all facility, local, and national procedures for the disposal of hazardous materi-
als.
Magnet Arrays
Neodymium Iron Boron (NdFeB) magnets are used in the magnet arrays attached to the vehi-
cles (pucks) as the motor secondary. If these magnets are being removed or replaced, they
must be handled in the following manner:
•
Follow all safety procedures for the handling of high strength magnets (refer to
).
•
Follow all facility, local, and national procedures for the disposal of hazardous materi-
als. All strong permanent magnets should be demagnetized prior to disposal.
