However, it is now possible to correct for group delay, and in doing so, 
certain characteristics can be enhanced. By providing zero group delay at 
all frequencies, preshoot and overshoot is equalized, which is preferable 
for eye diagram measurements. Then, by providing the flattest possible 
frequency response with zero group delay, the fastest possible rise time 
can be measured. LeCroy provides all three of these choices in the 
Response Optimization Mode selection.   

 

Pulse Response 

- A delay compensation that minimizes preshoot. 

This selection most resembles the response of an analog 
oscilloscope. 

 

 

Eye Diagram

 - Delay compensation with equalized preshoot and 

overshoot. This selection improves the accuracy of serial eye 
diagrams.
