K. ENTER IP ADDRESS FOR OPTIONAL ETHERNET-
COMMUNICATION:

An optional Ethernet communication system is available
for the 893. The Ethernet system allows a remote PC to
access most setup and counter screens on the 893,
including a log of the error alarms. A unique IP address
must be setup in the 893 so the Ethernet network will rec-
ognize the closer. Contact your computer system admin-
istrator for help with the IP address.
1. On the Main Control screen press the “Setup”
button.
2. Enter the password at the Password Required
screen and press the “OK” button.
3. Press the IP address in the bottom left of the
Setup screen. If the closer is not connected to
the Ethernet with a cable, “Not Connected” will
be displayed in the bottom left. Press “Not
Connected” to enter the IP address.
4. Enter the IP address and press the “OK” button.
3. Press the “OK” button again to exit back to the
Main Control screen.
L. SELECT CLOSER BELT SPEED CONTROL-
METHOD:

Several methods are available for controlling the closer
belt speed. In manual mode the linear speed slide on the
touch screen is used exclusively to adjust the closer belt
speed.
In 0 to 5 volt or 0 to 10 volt mode an analog voltage sig-
nal from the bagger or PLC is monitored by the closer.
When the bagger changes speed, the closer also auto-
matically changes belt speed. The linear speed slide on
the touch screen is used to fine tune the speed adjust-
ment. When the conveyor comes to a complete stop the
closer belts will continue to rotate at a slow speed to allow
any bag in the machine to be closed.
