The instructions provided in this document explain the
installation of the 893A ethernet flash board.
A. INSTALL THE ETHERNET FLASH BOARD:

CAUTION: Use a grounding wrist strap when handling
any electronic components.
1. Turn off and unplug the 893A closer from the
power source.
2. Remove the back cover.
3. Remove the lower cover.
4. Remove the two screws and nuts holding the
cover plate and retain the fastener for mounting
the Ethernet port.
5. Position the ethernet port on the inside fo the
bottom cover and secure it with the two screws
provided.
6. Route the cable to the right side of the closer,
as seen from the back (Figure 2). Plug the end
of the Ethernet cable into the Ethernet port
located on the side of the controller board.
7. Install the lower cover onto the closer.
8. Position the connecting pins of the serial flash
board (Figure 4) over the connector terminal
located on the controller board. Secure the
flash board with two 4-40 nylon screws provid-
ed.
9. Install the back cover.
10. Plug in the power cord and turn on the closer.
11. Connect the ethernet cable to the ethernet port.
