H. PICK STOP ADJUSTMENT:
Figure 5.14
The pick stop may require adjustment after the lok
cam has been changed. The function of the stop is
to prevent closures from pushing the pick out of
position (when in its home position), allowing the
closures to feed past the pick, resulting in mis-pick-
ing of the closure strip.
1.
With the pick in the home position, feed clo-
sures into the lok track. If the closures feed
past the pick, the stop requires adjustment. If
the closure strip is stopped by the pick, check to
insure that there is a gap of 0.010”-.0.015”
(0.25Mm-0.38Mm) between the pick and the
stop (remove the outside upper plate to view).
If not, the pick stop will require adjustment.
2
Detach the inside upper belt plate from the clos-
er by removing the four mounting screws.
3
Loosen the jam nut on the pick stop (socket
head cap screw) and adjust it slightly, in or out,
as required. Re-tighten the jam nut.
4. Reinstall the inside upper belt plate.
5. Check the pick stop adjustment. Repeat steps 2
through 4 until the requirements in step 1 have
been met.
