SECTION II
Installation
P 2.1
A. POWER REQUIREMENT:
Verify supply power matches the specifications
printed on the machine serial number tag. The sup-
ply power should be on all the time. Use the 893
power switch to turn the machine on and off.
The 893 Ultra utilizes assorted electrical
components which can be sensitive to electrical
power quality problems.
To correct electrical quality issues the 893 utilizes a
high quality built-in power supply. The power supply
provides power factor correction and is compliant to
EN61000 and EN55024 standards for immunity to
electromagnetic and harmonic current interference.
The 893 will operate correctly with input power from
90-260VAC at 48 - 62 Hz.
At locations where the available power is out of
specification, Kwik Lok recommends using a UPS
(uninterruptable power supply). The UPS plugs into
the power outlet with a standard cord, and the 893A
plugs into the UPS. Be sure to use the “battery
backup” plugs on the UPS. The device contains
electronics that provide additional filtering to the in
coming power and utilizes a battery that can
temporarily deliver additional power if the input
voltage falls below acceptable levels. The UPS
should be rated for a minimum output capacity of
450VA or about 250 watts. The UPS output wave
form should be true sine wave or stepped
approximate to sine wave, and should have a
topology of Line Interactive.
B.. MOUNTING THE CLOSER ON A KWIK LOK MAN-
UFACTURED CONVEYOR:

1.
The mounting brackets are furnished and at-
tached to the Kwik Lok Conveyor, allowing quick
installation of the closer.
C. MOUNTING THE CLOSER ON ANOTHER
MANUFACTURERS CONVEYOR:
Figure 2.2
1.
Locate the mounting holes for the closer and
bag tensioner mounting hardware.
2.
Refer to Figure 2.2 to locate and drill mounting
holes. Refer to Section VIII, pages 8.26 - 8.28
for mounting brackets and hardware.
D. INSTALL THE CLOSER:
Insert the lower end of the closer mount adjust post
into the bottom hole of the closer mount bracket.
While depressing the spring-loaded plunger of the
mount post, move the closer into position until the
plunger snaps into the upper hole of the closer
mount bracket.
