E. VERTICAL ALIGNMENT OF THE CLOSER:

The lok should be located in the middle of the pack-
age, both vertically and horizontally. The bag neck,
at its mid-point, must be in alignment with the con-
veyor bag neck rail, bag tensioner and closer.
1. Set the height of the closer gearbelt pinch point
to one-half the product height above the con-
veyor by rotating the closer mount adjust post.
The belt “pinch point” is the point where the
upper and lower belt meet.
If different size packages are to be closed, an aver-
age height can be used, avoiding the need to re-ad-
just the height for various products.
2. Set the height of the bag tensioner, by turning
the two mount adjust gears (Figure 2.4), so that
the pinch point of the brushes is at the same
height as the pinch point of the closer gearbelts.
The brush “pinch point” is the point where the
upper and lower brush meet. Adjust the ten-
sioner bag neck shelf so that it mates with the
bottom of the closer tunnel (refer to the bag ten-
sioner manual for additional information).
3. Set the height of the bag neck rail so that the
bag neck support rod is slightly below the pinch
point of the bag tensioner brushes.
