B. LOK MANAGEMENT SYSTEM:
Figures 7, 8, 9
The 893 monitors the closing sequence if the optional
lok management system is installed. The system sets
off the alarm if the bag sensor detects a package but
the closer does not cycle. The bag sensor is mounted
to the infeed side of the closer on a fixed bracket. The
sensor connects to the Lok management port on the
back of the closer.
The bag sensor must sense three bags in a row for the
sequence monitor to become active. The bag sensor
must be programmed to see a package without sensing
the conveyor or belt flights. To program the bag sensor,
a sensor programmer (P12-00278) is connected
between the bag sensor and the bag sensor cable.
Program the bag sensor with the following steps.
1.
Turn off power on the 893A Closer.
2.
Connect the bag sensor programmer between
the sensor and the sensor cable as shown in
Figure 9. Make sure the sensor cable is con-
nected to the back of the closer.
3.
Turn power on to the 893 Closer.
4.
Press and hold the button on the programmer
until the flashing light changes to slow flashing.
5.
Position a flat object such as a large card,
tablet etc. below the sensor about 1/2” above
the upper height of the product that will be
closed. Press and release the button on the
programmer as shown in Figure 8. The object
must be at least two inches away from the sen-
sor. Raise the sensor height if needed.
6.
Move the conveyor to bring a flight bar under
the bag sensor. Position a flat object such as a
large card, tablet etc. about 1/2 “ above the
flight bar as shown in Figure 9. Press and
release the button on the programmer. The
light on the programmer will flash rapidly, and
then remain on. The sensor is now pro-
grammed. It will sense anything between the
two set ranges, and ignore anything else out-
side the set ranges.
7.
Turn off power to the 893 and disconnect the
programmer. Connect the sensor cable to the
sensor.
