Procedure
• Disconnect the battery connector (33).
• Disassemble the side panels (42):
• Pull up and lift out the side panels (42) (see arrow direction "A").
• Unlatch and remove the battery retainer (102):
• Turn the handle (101) approx. 180° anticlockwise (see arrow direction "B").
• Lift out the battery retainer (102) (see arrow direction "C").
• Lift out the battery retainer (100) (see arrow direction "D").
• Position the battery roller stand in front of the battery compartment in such a way
that the battery (99) can be safely pushed onto the roller stand.
• Push the battery (99) sideways onto the prepared battery roller stand (see arrow
direction "E").
• Secure the battery (99) on the roller stand against accidental movement.
The battery has now been removed.
WARNING!
Accident risk when battery is not installed
The weight and dimensions of the battery have a considerable effect on the stability
and capacity of the industrial truck. In exceptional cases the truck may perform short
shunting operations without the battery in the battery compartment, e.g. battery
replacement.
The following rules apply:
u
Operate the truck with battery current only. Rectified AC current damages the
assemblies (controllers, sensors, motors etc.) of the electronic system.
u
Cable connections to the battery (tow leads) must be less than 6 m long and have
a minimum cross-section of 50 mm². Unsuitable cable connections (wire cross-
section too long, too small) with the battery (tow leads) can overheat, setting the
battery on fire.
u
Mast fully lowered, see page 171.
u
No load on the load handler.
u
Only carry out short shunting operations at inching speed.
u
This requires added concentration on the part of the operator.
