4-2. Adjusting the thread take-up spring and the thread take-up stroke
[When you want to change the stroke of the
thread take-up spring]

1) Loosen screw ❷ and adjust thread take-up

2) Loosen screw ❹ and adjust thread take-
up spring, right ❶ by moving thread take-up
spring adjusting plate ❺ along thread take-up

[When you want to change the tension of
the thread take-up spring]
1) To change the strength of thread take-up
spring, left

, loosen nut

and turn spring
shaft ❽ counterclockwise to increase the
spring strength or clockwise to decrease it.
Secure the thread take-up spring, left by tight-
ening nut

2) To change the strength of thread take-up
spring, right ❶ , loosen screw ❾ and turn nut
counterclockwise to increase the spring
strength or clockwise to decrease it.
Secure the thread take-up spring, right by
tightening screw

The length of thread pulled out by the thread take-
up is decreased by moving thread guide
to the
right (in direction A ) or is increased by moving it
to the left (in direction B ).
WARNING :
To protect against possible personal injury due to abrupt start of the machine, be sure to start the
following work after turning the power off and ascertaining that the motor is at rest.
