Factory Remote Troubleshooting
IPG Photonics can provide factory remote troubleshooting assistance and service over
the Internet. The procedure involves contacting IPG Photonics Customer Service for
user ID and password information, which is done on a session-by-session basis.
To Set Up a Remote Troubleshooting Session:
1. Ensure that the Ethernet port on the IPG workstation is connected to the facility’s
local area network (LAN) which has access to an outside Internet service
provider.
2. From within the workstation, open the Internet Explorer that came with the
factory-loaded Windows operating system. Other browsers should work too, but
may look different than what appears in the following steps.
3. Enter the following remote support software download link in the Internet
Explorer address bar and click “Enter”:
http://898.tv/ipgm_client
4. Internet Explorer will navigate to the following Team Viewer web page:

5. Click the “Run” button at the bottom of the page to download the remote support
software.
6. After about 10 seconds (depending on Internet access speed), the TeamViewer
site will display the remote control terminal with the workstation’s ID and
Password for this session.
