Starting and Shutting Down
Caution:
Before operating the workstation for the first time, be sure to learn the system
components and safety practices described in this manual. Also read the included IPG
Photonics IX series software manual, Setup and Operation: Chroma.NET (IPG part
number P21-010174) before attempting to process parts.
Laser Power
Caution:
To preserve the life of the laser, IPG Photonics recommends that the Nitrogen supply is
maintained and the main power remains on.

The system’s AC disconnect switch and emergency stop buttons disconnect the
laser’s power.
Leave these switches on
at all times unless the power must be
disconnected to service the system.
❑
If the power is disconnected for any reason, it should be restored as soon as
possible, preferably within a few hours.
Never disconnect the laser’s power for more
than a week.
Refer to the provided laser manufacturer’s documentation for more information.
