Verifying component failure
Before replacing the SCSI I/O module:
•
Verify that the module Status LED is off or is blinking amber.
•
Check the array controller LCD display panel for error messages.
Removing the component
CAUTION:
The SCSI I/O module is not hot-pluggable. Before replacing the module, all I/O from the servers must be
stopped and the MSA must be powered down.

Review all warnings, cautions, and preparation procedures as detailed in
Warnings and precautions
.
NOTE:
Before removing the SCSI I/O module, label all cables. This ensures their reconnection in
the correct con
fi
guration.
2.
Disconnect all SCSI cables from the SCSI I/O module.
3.
Lift the port-colored SCSI I/O module latch (

) and pull the SCSI I/O module out of the chassis (

).

Installing the component
1.
Slide the replacement SCSI I/O module into the MSA chassis bay until the module clicks into place.
