The default operating mode of an EB, SC, SD, or SRP2XBSLAVE card is
normal
.
NOTE:
•
After setting the operating mode of an EB, SC, or SD card, save the configuration and reboot the switch
to validate the setting.
•
If your switch has multiple EB or SD cards, set the same operating mode for them.
•
An EB or SD card might reboot once or twice for self-optimization the first time you change its operating
mode or upgrade the software version of the switch after changing the card operating mode. The
process takes about 6 to 10 minutes.

Description
Use the
switch-mode optional-proxy-board
command to enable LPU forwarding proxy.
Use the
undo switch-mode
optional-proxy-board
command to disable LPU forwarding proxy.
By default, LPU forwarding proxy is disabled. If the switch has two MPUs, the active MPU can forward or
process traffic for LPUs.
If LPU forwarding proxy is enabled, the switch sets one high-performance LPU instead of using the active
MPU to forward traffic for overloaded LPUs or provide extended services.
