3. Patient Quality Control (XB)
3.1. Introduction
◆
The (XB) Patient Quality Control is used to detect any change in the quality of results by using
patient data only.
◆
This data monitoring is performed without any user intervention and is applied to 3 parameters:
MCV, MCH and MCHC.
◆
When a total of 20 results are archived (only valid parameters) an XB batch is computed.
◆
The batch data computed is the mean result for all 20 analyses contained in that specific batch.

3.2. XB tab access and description
To access the " XB " tab:
1- Press " Quality control menu " button to access the " Quality control " menu.
2- Press " XB " tab.

The " XB " tab contains two radio buttons for switching between XB curves and XB data screens.
◆
The " XB curves " screen is displayed by default.
XB curves screen contains:

3 drawing areas: one for each XB parameter (MCV, MCH and MCHC).
XB data screen contains a table displaying:

3 columns: one for each XB parameters (MCV, MCH and MCHC).
◆
20 rows: for the 20 XB points representing the computed averages for each point and parameter.
◆
If a parameter result is upper than the limit set in the " Settings " menu (See Section 6, 6. Analysis
settings, page 6-11 ), its value is displayed in red.
◆
If a parameter result is lower than the limit set in the " Settings " menu (See Section 6, 6. Analysis
settings, page 6-11 ), its value is displayed in blue.
