Start the engine.
Turn the th rott l e sto p sc rew knob and a dj u st the i d l e
speed.
Idle speed: 49 states type: 1 ,000
±
100 rpm
California type: 1,100
±
100 rpm
Canadian type: 1 ,000
±
100 rpm
Check the each carbu retor i ntake vacu u m pressu re is with­
in 20 mm (0.8 i n ) Hg of the base carbu retor.
NOTE
•
The base carbu retor is the No. 1 carbu retor.
Sync h ro n ize to s pecificat i o n by t u r n i n g the a d j u st i n g
screws.
Recheck the idle speed and each cyli nder i ntake vacu u m
pressu re s o i t is withi n 2 0 m m (0.8 i n ) Hg of the base car­
bu retor reading after snapping the.th rottle grip 3 - 4 times.
Remove the vacu u m gauge and adaptors.
