If the measu red va lue out of the specification, remove the
spa rk plug caps from the spark plug wi res and measu re
the resistance between the spark plug wires.

Ignition Pulse Generator Inspection
N OTE
•
It is n ot n ecessa ry to re m ove the pu lse generato r
from the engine.
Remove the fue l tan k ( page 2-2) .
Disconnect t h e ignition pu lse generator 3P (White) connec­
tor.
Measu re the res i sta nce betwee n the B l ack/Ye l l ow a n d
Black/Wh ite term ina ls.
Standard: 450 - 550

Ignition Coil Removal/Installation
Front
Remove the a i r cleaner housing ( page 5- 3).
Remove the spa rk plug ca ps from spark pl ugs.
Disconnect the ignition coi l primary wi res from the coi l .
Remove t h e ignition c o i l mounting bolts and front ignition
coi l .
I n sta l lation is i n t h e reverse order o f remova l .
Rear
Remove the seat and left side cover (page 2-2, 3).
Remove the fuse box stay bolts and frame grou nd cable.
