•
Inhaled asbestos fibers have been found to cause respiratory disease and cancer. Never use an air hose or dry
brush to clean brake assemblies. Use an OSHA-approved vacuum cleaner or alternate method approved by
OSHA, designed to minimize the hazard caused by airborne asbestos fibers.
•
A contaminated brake drum or shoe reduces stopping power. Discard contaminated shoes and clean a contami
nated drum with a high quality brake degreasing agent.
•
Any attempt to mount automobile tires on a motorcycle rim may cause the tire . bead to separate from the rim
with enough explosive force to cause serious injury or death.
•
When servicing the rea r wheel, su pport the motorcycle using a safety stand or hoist.
•
