Gasoline is extremely flammable and is explosive under certain conditions. KEEP OUT OF REACH OF CHILDREN.
•
Bending or twisting the control cables will impair smooth operation and could cause the cables to stick or bind,
resulting in loss of vehicle control.
•
Work i n a wel l ventilated a rea. Smoking or a llowing flames or spa rks i n the work a rea or where gasoline is stored
can cause a fi re or explosion.
CAUTION
•
To prevent damage, be sure to removed the diaphragms before cleaning air and fuel passages with compressed
air. The diaphragms might be damaged.
•
Refer to section 2 for fuel tank removal and i nstal lation.
•
When disassembling fuel system parts, note the locations of the 0-rings. Replace them with new ones on reassem
bly.
•
Before removing the carbu retors, place the suitable container under the carbu retor d rain tube, loosen the drain bolts
and dra i n the carbu retors.
•
After removing the carbu retor, wrap the intake port of the engine with a shop towel or cover it with pieces of tape to
prevent any foreign material from dropping i nto the engine.
•
The vacuum chamber and float chamber can be serviced with the carbu retors assem bled.
•
California Type On ly:
All hoses used in the evaporative em ission control system are n u m bered for identification. When connecti ng one of
these hose, com pa re the hose n u m ber with the Vacuum Hose Routi ng Diagram Label, page 1 -30, and ca rbu retor
tubes routi ng, page 5- 1 3.
NOTE
•
If the veh icle is to be stored for more than one month, dra i n the float bowls. Fuel left i n the float bowls may ca use
clogged jets resulting in hard starti ng or poor d riveability.
