Insta l l a new gasket and cam chain tensioner.
Torque the cam chain tensioner mounting bolts.
Torque:
12
N·m
(1.2
kg-m, 9 ft-lb)
Remove the cam chain tensioner stopper tool .
I nsta l l the cam chain tensioner sealing bolt a n d washer.
Make sure the timing marks on the camshaft sprockets a re
level with the cylinder head u pper edge.
When The Front Cylinder Camshaft Only Was Removed
A l i g n the "T1 " m a rk with the i n dex m a rk on the right
cra n kcase cover.
Remove the rea r cylinder head cover ( page
8-2).
Make s u re #1 cylinder is TDC on the compression stroke.
If it is n ot, turn the cra n kshaft clockwise 360° and make
s u re "T1 " m a rk a l igns with the i ndex m a rk on the right
cra n kcase cover.
Rotate the cra n kshaft clockwise 90° to a l ign the "T2" mark
with the index mark on the right crankcase cover.
Insta l l the camshaft holder dowel pins onto the front cylin­
der head.
Lubricate the camshaft journal su rface, camshaft holder
and cam lobes with molybden u m disulfide oil.
I nsta l l the csmshafts onto the front cylinder head.
Check that the " F-EX" ti ming m a rk on the front exhaust
camshaft sprocket is l evel with the cyli nder head u pper
edge as shown.
C h eck that the " F-I N " ti m i n g m a rk o n the front i nta ke
camshaft sprocket is leve l with the cyl i n der head u pper
edge as shown.
