Gang Programmer
The gang programmer is a programming tool which programs up to 8 OTP
devices simultaneously. The following procedure describes its use.
•
Connection
The gang programmer must be connected to the OTP programmer via a
flat cable before programming multiple OTP chips.
•
Read the source code
There are two methods to read the source code. One is from a programmed
OTP chip, which should be placed in the TEXTOOL of the OTP program-
mer. The other is from the PC file, using the HT-IDE or PRGW48 utility.
In the latter method, the Exit command in the File menu must be
executed after the PC source file has been read.
•
Program the OTP chips in stand-alone mode
–
Use the arrow key on the OTP programmer to move the cursor to the
“-8” on the LCM.
–
Place the OTP chips in the textools of the gang programmer. The LEDs
below the TEXTOOLs should turn off.
–
Start the program operation by using the program function. Refer to
Primary function - Program.
•
The LCM flashes the code address while the OTP/Gang programmer is
programming the OTP chips. When the programmer has completed the
operation, indicated by no blinking address, the LEDs will illuminate if
the programmer fails to program the corresponding OTP chip. If the LED
is not illuminated then the corresponding OTP chip has been pro-
grammed successfully.
In addition, the gang programmer can be used to individually Verify and
Blank check OTP chips.
