CARE, MAINTENANCE, CALIBRATION
WARNING
There is dangerous voltage at the grid side of the mains switch even when the device is
switched off!
Make sure that all the covers are installed correctly.
ERS-power supplies are mostly free of maintenance. The following instructions should be observed.
Care and Cleaning
Depending on the ambient conditions, air circulation and / or static charges can pollute the device to
such an extent that functional impairments occur, e.g. due to overheating or leakage currents. For this
reason, the ERS must be checked at regular intervals (6 months) and cleaned if necessary. In case of
especially strong pollution a more frequent cleaning can be necessary.
Venting the Cooling Circuit
When the ERS system is first put into operation and if air is brought into the system by work on the
building site cooling circuit, it is recommended that the cooling circuit be vented.
An instruction on how the ERS cooling circuit is vented can be found in
section 5.5.3, Filling and
Venting the Cooling Circuit, p. 29
.
Service and Maintenance
In order to maintain the long-term availability of the system and to safeguard your investment, reg-
ular maintenance and equipment checks are recommended. The intervals between the required
maintenance works depend strongly on the conditions under which the equipment is used. We rec-
ommend having the device checked or serviced annually by our service.
Not Using the Device
The DC intermediate circuit of the ERS is equipped with electrolytic capacitors. If electrolytic capaci-
tors are stored without voltage, the dielectric slowly decomposes, which influences the dielectric
strength and capacity. If the capacitor is now put into operation at nominal voltage, it can be de-
stroyed
N O T I C E
To protect the device from damage, it must be operated for at least one hour every six months. If it
is not in use for a longer period of time, a special switch-on procedure must be carried out by the
manufacturer.
Calibration
For use under normal conditions, we recommend a calibration interval of 1 to 2 years for current/volt-
age calibration. For instruments used for regular assessment, occupational safety checks, quality as-
surance of products and services, we recommend calibration after 1 year.
On request, Heinzinger electronic will also carry out a DIN EN ISO 9001 compliant calibration of the
instrument.
