Dielectric
You can adjust the Dielectric Constant during data
collection from one (1) to eighty-one (81).

Turn Show Hyperbola On under the Output
Menu.

Set the H Cursor at the top of a target in your
slab.

Adjust the Dielectric so that the Hyperbola
matches the shape of your target.
Changing the Dielectric Constant will change the
vertical scale and give you a more accurate depth
estimate for your targets.
Set Depth
This control button allows you to enter the depth of a known target and automatically adjust the Dielectric
Constant. This option is only available when Show Hyperbola is turned off from the Output menu.

Collect a file over a target with a known depth.

Back up so the vertical cursor is in line with the target.

Set Horizontal Cursor (H Cursor) to Move, and the Set Depth button appears. Position the H Cursor
at the top of the known target.

Press the Set Depth control button and the depth of the H Cursor’s position appears above Set Depth.

Adjust the depth value using either the Control knob or arrow keys to match the known value. The
vertical scale will change as you adjust the depth value and once the known depth is saved the
Dielectric Constant is adjusted.
Output
This control button opens a menu with options for modifying the data display during collection. Below
are the options for changing the display.
• Show Hyperbola
- Toggles a hyperbola On or Off while in setup or
during collection. The hyperbola appears at the intersection of the vertical
and horizontal cursor. By default the horizontal cursor is placed at the top
of the data display.
• Colormap
- This menu option offers 30 available Colormap options (i.e.
color tables). Select the menu by pressing the Control Knob or Enter key
and then scroll through Colormap #0-29.
