StructureScan2D Setup
1
Select StructureScan2D from the modes at the top of the Introduction screen.
2
If using a Smart Antenna, such as the 52600S, the correct antenna will be selected. However, if using
an older antenna you’ll need to select the correct frequency from the Antenna soft key at the bottom
of the screen.
3
After verifying or selecting your antenna, select whether or not this is a New Project or if you’re
continuing a project with the Last Used Settings. You will then see the setup screen and, if an antenna
is connected and the dead-man switch is engaged, it will initialize and data will start to scroll across.
What You Can Customize
There are two setup menus in StructureScan2D: Radar and System.
Radar Menu:
Change the settings in the Radar Menu in the order that they are listed.
1
Scan Density:
You can adjust the number of scans collected over the
distance traveled. Below are the options for Scan Density. The higher the
Scan Density the better chance you have of identifying small cables or
distinguishing between two targets that are close together.
•
High: 20 scans/in (8 scans/cm)
•
Normal: 10 scans/in (4 scans/cm)
•
Low: 5 scans/in (2 scans/cm)
2
Dielectric:
You can adjust the Dielectric value of your concrete manually if
you know it from a previous survey. Otherwise use Concrete Type to set the
Dielectric.
