Managing Gridstore Storage Nodes in a vStore
You can stop all I/O communications to a specific Gridstore Storage Node in a vStore, and also start
it up again. If a Gridstore Storage Node is faulty, you also have the option to swap and replace it.

Stopping a Gridstore Storage Node in a vStore
You may need to stop all I/O communications to a Gridstore Storage Node in a vStore. You would do
this if you wanted to move or remove the Gridstore Storage Node, for example. This action does not
power down the Gridstore Storage Node, or remove it from the network.

In the left navigation tree of GridControl, navigate to the appropriate vStore. To do so:
•
Click the plus sign next to
vPools to expand it.
•
Click the plus sign next to the vPool that contains the appropriate vStore, to expand that
vPool.
•
Click the plus sign next to
vStores to expand it.

Select the appropriate vStore so that you can view the vStore and the Gridstore Storage
Nodes it contains.

In the vStore window to the right, right-click on the Gridstore Storage Node in the table that
you would like to stop, and select Stop from the short-cut menu.
The selected Gridstore Storage Node stops and displays with a Stopped status icon.
Starting a Gridstore Storage Node in a vStore
You can start a Gridstore Storage Node in a vStore that was stopped. This starts the Gridstore
Management Services for the Gridstore Storage Node.

In the left navigation tree of GridControl, navigate to the appropriate vStore. To do so:

Click the plus sign next to
vPools to expand it.
•
Click the plus sign next to the vPool that contains the appropriate vStore, to expand that
vPool.
•
Click the plus sign next to
vStores to expand it.
2.
Select the appropriate vStore so that you can view the vStore and the Gridstore Storage
Nodes it contains.
3.
In the vStore window on the right, right-click on the Gridstore Storage Node in the list that you
would like to start, and select Start from the short-cut menu.
The selected Gridstore Storage Node starts up. When finished, it displays with a
Running status icon.
