The new product is now set up and active. This new product is
automatically selected as the current product and is now ready for
measurements.
Automatic settings of the newly set up product
When setting up a new product, WinFTM automatically selects the
settings below.
Many parameters are automatically taken from the product that is
active at the beginning of a new product set up:
Measuring time
Display resolution
Display parameters
Default specifications in the Service menu
Accepted into the new product:
Currently active unit of measurement
Print forms
Print forms are automatically assigned to the product from the pre-
set default print forms for the block and final evaluation according
to the measurement mode.
The name of the respective print forms is displayed to the right of
the command buttons.
Notepad
The notepad assigned to the product is initially empty.
Other
With the exception of “Measurement application” all tabs in the
menu “Modify product” are product related.
A product can be selected across folders by assigning icons.
Set up reference sam-
ples
A reference sample appropriate for the product should be set up
after setting up a new product file. This will enable subsequent
calibration check measurements
(see 7.13 ‘Reference samples’, beginning on Page 46).
7.3
Importing a product
If you have received a new product file from FISCHER, you need to
import it. The file name has the extension
*.sav, *.sv1 or *.sv3
.
Procedure
1. If you have received the product file by e-mail as a file attach-
ment, save the file in a directory that does not belong to
WinFTM, e.g.
C:\temp
.
2. If you have received the product file by CD, insert the CD into
the CD drive.
3. In the WinFTM main window select
Product > Copy to/from
