12.3 Back-up cycle
Data back-up prompt
You can set the back-up cycle, that is, the waiting time until the
prompt for the data back-up appears in the entry box “Waiting time
...”.
The actual operating time of the instrument is counted in days.
If you enter “0”, the prompt for data back-up will occur after about 1
min. Once the set waiting time has expired, the dialog box
“Announcing data back-up” appears. You will be asked if an
automatic data back-up is desired. Click the command button [OK]
in the dialog box “Announcing data back-up” to start the automatic
data back-up.
Additional options for starting the data back-up manually
Start data back-up Menu command “File > data back-up (complete):
used to back-up all sub-folders of the WinFTM Software.
Menu command “File > data back-up (partial):
used to back-up the folders “DataFile”, “Data” and “Spectra”.
Data back-up
(complete) Backing up data using the command
“Data back-up (complete)”:
1. Use the menu command “File > data back-up (complete)” to open
the dialog box “Select a folder for the XRAY data back-up”. It con-
tains all sub-folders of the WinFTM Software.
2. Click [Open].
This will trigger a warning message that existing folders with the
same name in the selected target path will be deleted, thus delet-
ing a potentially existing back-up copy to make room for the new
one.
3. Click [OK] if you agree to have the old data back-up deleted.
When the copying procedure is done, the data back-up is finished.
Data back-up
(partial) Backing up the data using the command
“Data back-up (partial)”:
1. Use the menu command “File > data back-up (partial)” to open the
dialog box “Select a folder for the XRAY data back-up”. Then, only
the three folders “DataFile”, “Data” and “Spectra” will be included
in the data back-up.
2. Click [Open]. This will trigger a warning message that existing fold-
ers with the same name in the selected target path will be deleted,
thus deleting a potentially existing back-up copy to make room for
the new one.
3. Click [OK] if you agree to have the old data back-up deleted.
When the copying procedure is done, the data back-up is
finished.
