12 Data back-up
Protect your data - back
them up! Regularly back-up at least the following folders or files in order to
be able to return to the previous status in case of a hard disk crash
or accidental erasure of important files:

Folder “Data”

Folder “Spectra”

All products where the folder “Datafile” is backed up in its entirety.
Manual or automatic
data back-up From the menu option “Data back-up”, the data back-up can be
carried out manually or automatically (prompted by program).
Additionally, the operator can choose whether the data back-up
should be complete (all sub-folders of the WinFTM will be backed
up) or partial (back-up of the sub-folders “DataFile”, “Data” and
“Spectra”).
Setting automatic data
back-up Use the menu command “General > Service > Data back-up
setting” to get directly to the dialog box “Data back-up - settings” to
set automatic data back-up.

12.1 Extent of the data back-up
Select, whether you desire “no automatic prompt” for data back-up,
a prompt for a “partial” data back-up (for the sub-files “DataFile”,
“Data” and “Spectra”) or a “complete” data back-up.
12.2 Target path for data back-up
Clicking the command button [Select] opens the dialog box “Select
a folder for the XRAY data back-up”, where you can select your
desired target path.
For data back-up, you can select, for example, a CD-ROM writer, a
network folder or a folder on the local hard drive or on a second
hard drive.
