Overwriting Measurement Data
For various reasons, it can be useful to measure a specimen again
and to overwrite the old reading with the new one. To do this, click
(select) a reading, even a deleted one, from the list display mode
and then click the [Start] command button. The message window
“Warning: Reading no. n in block no. N remeasure?” appears."
Three options to overwrite a reading:
Command button [Yes] starts a measurement
(or, if communication is disabled (OFF): open a spectrum file and
evaluate it). The result overwrites the reading and undeletes a
potential deletion.
However, the date and time of an old measurement will be over-
written by the date and time of the new reading.
Command button [No] starts a measurement
(or, if communication is disabled (OFF): open a spectrum file and
evaluate it).
The result will appear as the last reading in the current block.
Command button [Cancel] closes the message window and no
action takes place.
8.3
Closing a Block (Order no. / Operator)
A block is a test series that combines several readings that have
been made under the same conditions or that belong to the same
order. All single readings of a block are numbered consecutively
and each block, in turn, has a consecutive number as well. The
statistical evaluation of all measurement data of the current block
appears in the statistics window (see Section “Main window”, Point
“Statistics window”). The last line of the statistics window displays
information with the original designation “Order no.” that has been
stored by the user. The information in this line consists of
alphanumeric characters that you can enter in the following
manner:
