This message appears upon initialization
of the BAPis Image Processor Board
when the Master Control Program
receives a bad CRC (cyclic redundancy
check) from the board, indicating there
is a problem with the accuracy of data
transmitted through the MCP/BAP
Interface communication link.
Write down the error message and notify an
appropriate election official. If possible,
shutdown and then turn off the Scanner. Wait 30
seconds and then turn the Scanner back on. If
the problem persists, an ES&S Service Technician
will need to be contacted. Since the BAPis Board
is a “COTS” (Commercial Off The Shelf) product,
the ES&S Technician may have to contact a BAP
Technician to diagnose the problem.
