1009005 - MCP
command syntax error.

This message appears when a
command, sent from the User Interface
to the Master Control Program, cannot
be understood by the Master Control
Program.
Write down the error message and notify an
appropriate election official. If possible,
shutdown and then turn off the Scanner. Wait 30
seconds and then turn the Scanner back on. If
the problem persists, an ES&S Customer Service
Representative will need to be contacted.
1009006 - The client
connection to MCP
timed out.

This message appears when the
connection of the User Interface to the
Master Control Program is terminated
due to the lack of response from the
User Interface when the Master Control
Program queries it over a limited period
of time.
Write down the error message and notify an
appropriate election official. If possible,
shutdown and then turn off the Scanner. Wait 30
seconds and then turn the Scanner back on. If
the problem persists, an ES&S Customer Service
Representative will need to be contacted.
1009007 - The system
has too many open
sockets.

This message appears when the Master
Control Program detects that there are
so many unused communication link
end-points, for its connection to the
User Interface, that it can no longer
effectively communicate with the User
Interface.
Write down the error message and notify an
appropriate election official. If possible,
shutdown and then turn off the Scanner. Wait 30
seconds and then turn the Scanner back on. If
the problem persists, an ES&S Customer Service
Representative will need to be contacted.
1009008 - MCP
command unknown.
