9.2.5.9 "Phase of the 1X/2X/3X/xX vibration" characteristic value
Phase angle measurement is useful only for low fre-
quencies/rotation speeds. The evaluation procedure
(see below) shows why. Further information on phase
angle definition and on measurement precision etc. is
available under
Measuring the phase angle.
This characteristic value can be determined only when
a cyclical digital pulse is connected to a digital input/-
counter (e.g. the square wave pulse of a rotating
shaft). This signal delivers a stable base frequency fn
as well as a phase reference or trigger signal.
The DSP normalizes the time signal (internally, hidden) to an integral multiple of
the basic frequency fn.
Using the frequency spectrum for the line index fn/2fn/3fn/xfn, the DSP determ-
ines the 0 ... 360° phasing of this line or vibration component.
Only freely definable components (phase of xX vibration) can be set in the range 0
… 100 * fn. The corresponding configuration dialogue (
Main settings tab) has a
“Rotation speed factor” field:
