clear fdb
Purpose
Used to clear the Switch’s forwarding database of all dynamically learned MAC
addresses.
Syntax
clear fdb [vlan <vlan_name 32> | port <port> | all]
Description
This command is used to clear dynamically learned entries to the Switch’s forwarding
database.
Parameters
<vlan_name 32>

The name of the VLAN on which the MAC address resides.
port <port>
−
The port number corresponding to the MAC destination address. The
Switch will always forward traffic to the specified device through this port. The port is
specified by listing the switch number and the port number on that switch, separated by a
colon. For example, 1:3 specifies switch number 1, port 3. 2:4 specifies switch number 2,
port 4. Non–contiguous portlist entries are separated by a comma. (ex: 1:1–1:3,1:7–1:9)

Clears all dynamic entries to the Switch’s forwarding database.
Restrictions
Only Administrator and Operator-level users can issue this command.
Example usage:
To clear all FDB dynamic entries:

show multicast_fdb
Purpose
Used to display the contents of the Switch’s multicast forwarding database.
Syntax
show mulitcast_fdb {[vlan <vlan_name 32> | vlanid <vidlist>] | mac_address
<macaddr>}
Description
This command is used to display the current contents of the Switch’s multicast MAC
address forwarding database.
Parameters
<vlan_name 32>

The name of the VLAN on which the MAC address resides. The VID
of the VLAN on which the MAC address resides.
<vidlist>
−
Displays the entries for the VLANs indicated by the VID list.
<macaddr>
−
The MAC address that is present in the forwarding database table.
Restrictions None.
