To add an OSPF Area to the table, type a unique Area ID (see below) select the Type from the drop-down menu. For a
Stub type, choose
Enabled
or
Disabled
from the Stub Import Summary LSA drop-down menu and determine the Stub
Default Cost. Click the
Add/Modify
button to add the Area ID set to the table.
To remove an Area ID configuration set, simply click the
X
in the
Delete
column for the configuration.
To change an existing set in the list, type the Area ID of the set you want to change, make the changes and click the
Add/Modify
button. The modified OSPF Area ID will appear in the table.

The Area ID settings are as follows:

A 32-bit number in the form of an IP address (xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx) that uniquely identifies
the OSPF area in the OSPF domain.
Type
This field can be toggled between
Normal
and
Stub
using the space bar. When it is
toggled to
Stub
, additional fields appear

Stub Import
Summary LSA
Displays whether or not the selected Area will allow Summary Link-State
Advertisements (Summary LSAs) to be imported into the area from other areas.
Stub Default Cost
Displays the default cost for the route to the stub of between 0 and 65,535. The default
is 1.
