Function 55h, Service 06h – 

Set Backlight 

Input: 

ah  =  55h 

al  =  06h 
bx  =  backlight state (0 = off, 1 = on)

 

Returns: 

Carry Flag clear if successful 

 

ax = current setting (after change) 

Carry Flag set on error

 

Notes: 

This function is used to set the state of the Apex PDT 
Backlight.

Get Video Polarity 

Input: 

ah  =  55h 

al  =  07h

 

Returns: 

Carry Flag clear if successful 
 

ax = current setting (0 = normal, 1 = reversed) 

Carry Flag set on error

 

Notes: 

This function retrieves the current setting of the Apex PDT 
video polarity.  Normal (black text on a white background) 
or reversed (white text on a black background) are the 
returned settings.
