Low Speed Mode:
The system enters the Low Speed Mode
after a period of inactivity specified by the BIOS Low Speed
Timeout setting. If the BIOS Low Speed Timeout is set to
OFF, the system will never enter the Low Speed Mode.
During the Low Speed Mode the system will perform as
follows:
Ø
The system is functioning at 8 MHz.
Ø
Power is supplied to the CPU, memory, and available
to all peripherals.

Standby:
The system enters Standby from the Low Speed
Mode after a period of inactivity specified by the BIOS
Standby Timeout setting. If the BIOS Standby Timeout is set
to OFF, the system will never enter Standby. During Standby
the system will perform as follows:
Ø
The system is in a low power state with some power
savings.
Ø
Most power managed devices are in a low power state.
Ø
The CPU clock is stopped.
Ø
Operational parameters are saved.
Ø
A resume event (e.g. key press, power status change)
will return the system to the High Speed Mode and to
the previous point of operation.
Ø
Display is turned OFF.

Suspend:
The system enters Suspend from Standby after a
period of inactivity specified by the BIOS Suspend Timeout
setting or by the user pressing the <Power> key during
normal operation. If the BIOS Suspend Timeout is set to
OFF, the system will never enter Suspend. During Suspend
the system will perform as follows:
Ø
The system is in a low power state with maximum
power savings.
Ø
Most power-managed devices are not powered.
Ø
The CPU clock is stopped and the CPU core is in its
minimum power usage state.
Ø
Operational parameters are saved.
Ø
A wake-up event (e.g. pressing the Red Power Button)
is necessary to return the system to the High Speed
Mode and to the previous point of operation.
