Upgrade Utility
[flashit.exe]
[flashit.exe] is a utility used to upgrade the Apex PDT BIOS,
operating system, and
A:
drive contents (simultaneously). The
program itself resides in 27.8K of memory and requires 300K of
RAM for proper operation.
Syntax:
flashit [options] [drive:][path][filename]
Option Description
-v verbose mode
-y auto answer y to user
-s safe mode
-? help
Drive: drive letter location of upgrade file to be loaded
Path directory path to the upgrade file on specified drive
Filename update/upgrade filename
Defaults: both verbose and safe modes default true.
Disable option: place a hyphen (–) after the option;
flashit -v-
(disables verbose mode).
Examples:
flashit apex3_r2.rom
Upgrades unit to the new version
apex3_r2.rom
.
flashit -?
Displays the
flashit
help screen.
Upgrade Procedure
1. Load the new version of the file or program into the Apex PDT
using the method of your choice (e.g. serial, PC Card, etc.).
2. Using the approved flashit syntax (displayed above) perform
the upgrade.
3. Reboot the unit to initialize the upgrade.
