1. The on-board Apex PDT internal RS-232 Serial Connector
is a male 8-pin Molex connector (Molex PN 53261-0890).
2. Serial communication using the RS-232 Serial connection
can be half or full duplex.
3. Many types of cables for serial communications with various
types of equipment including scales, CCDs, modems,
printers, etc. are available from Compsee, Inc. Call the
Compsee, Inc. Technical Support Number for additional
details.
Communication Procedures
The preferred method for file transfer communications with the
Apex PDT is to utilize the Apex PDT File Transfer Utility
[dx.exe] .
Use the following basic procedure to ensure that your file transfers
are completed successfully when using this method:
Using The Apex PDT File Transfer Utility
1. Connect your Apex PDT to the host PC using the Compsee
RS-232 Serial Cable (PN 0227001) or by using the Apex III
Dock (Apex III PDT only).
2. If NOT already installed, install an approved Communications
Application on your PC. (e.g. Compsee, Inc. Windows

Transfer Utility, HyperTerminal


3. Set the PC Communications application settings to the
