You may also receive IBM sense codes. Most of the error messages are in the
standard OpenVMS message format. Section A.2 describes the format of the
error messages and refers you to documentation where the meaning of the
error messages is provided.
A.1 Interpreting Event Messages
Event messages logged by OPCOM have the following format:
DECnet SNA event
nnn.nn event-text

node-address (node-name), dd-mmm-yyyy hh:mm:ss.cc
component component-id, Severity = level

Is the DECnet event code. All Gateway-ST event
messages have a code greater than 255.
event-text
Is the text that always appears with the event class
and type.
node-address (node-name)
Is the Gateway-ST node address and node name.
dd-mmm-yyyy
Is the date when the event occurred.
hh:mm:ss.cc
Is the time when the event occurred.
component component-id
Is the name and ID of the Gateway-ST component
sending the event messages.
level
Is the severity level of the event.
message1_text
message2_text
Are messages giving you the details of the event. The
second of these messages can be a VAX or AXP system
message. For information about VAX or AXP system
messages, refer to OpenVMS System Messages and
Recovery Procedures.
