If an attempt is made to overwrite a message of a differ-
ent type, the following appears.

to overwrite, or any other key to return to the
main menu.
You would generally use this function immediately fol-
lowing a
READ and edit. ALT RCD is equivalent to
entering the
Last Message Read
ID using the Address
Keypad, followed by pressing DEL MSG , then RCD .
The ALT key can also be used in conjunction with selec-
tive recording (
CNTL RCD
) operations. See §8.5 for this
procedure.

The simplest way to display a recorded message on the
Color Edit Monitor is to use the
READ
function. To read
a message:
[ ] 1. If necessary, press
ERASE
or
ESC
to clear the
Color Edit Monitor.
[ ] 2. Press CLR , then enter the selected message ID
number using the Address Keypad.
[ ] 3. Press
READ
.
The message now appears on the Color Edit Monitor.
If
XXXX MESSAGE FILE NOT FOUND
, (where XXXX
is the message number) appears on the Prompt Line, it
indicates that an empty address been entered. No mes-
sage exists at that address.
